A gate opened up to sunshine - benefits of life coaching

What are the benefits of life coaching and why is it something that you should consider?

As I celebrate 10 years as a Life Coach, I would love this to be the year YOU experience the benefits of life coaching for yourself. Get in touch for your free taster, or read on to find out more…

Here’s a more interesting question perhaps – if we don’t know what something is, how do we know we need it?

You have a car, it starts making clunking noises, and you know you need to take it to the garage.

Or you develop some physical symptoms that are unsettling, and you know you need to see the doctor.

But what if you are lacking purpose and direction in life, having been through a recent transition?

Or you routinely doubt your decision making and are feeling stuck in pleasing other people and lack confidence to believe in yourself?

A gate opened up to sunshine - benefits of life coachingMaybe you are looking to change something in life – you know you are frustrated with your job/relationship/health/situation but you don’t know what you DO want, or how to get there.

In these situations, what you need is a life coach.

Getting clarity on these issues are some of the benefits of life coaching.

Here are some comments about benefits gained by some recent clients:

I had lost who I was and coaching helped me see who I AM again.”

[Coaching] guided me through a time of transition into new and exciting territory that I hadn’t anticipated.”

…much better at decision making, more confident in being proactive.”

Life coaching is the process of moving from where you are to where you want to be. The International Coaching Federation defines coaching thus:

“partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.”

Just as a sports coach helps team members develop professionally, techincally, psychologically, so each of us benefits from taking a structured and proactive approach to our own personal development and growth.

Look at all those positive, juicy and future-focused words in that definition:

partnering, creative, thought-provoking,

inspiring, maximize, potential.

Stop a minute and think about the benefits of life coaching in YOUR life RIGHT NOW – what potential do you have that you would like to maximise? Where could having someone partner with you in that process take you as your own creative solutions flowed from somewhere inside you, as yet untapped?

I like to ask questions – as a life coach, it is what I spend most of my time with clients doing.

So here’s another one: Why do you do what you do?

Generally, you do what you do because you think what you think. And understanding WHAT you think, and crucially – WHY you think that, is a key outcome of life coaching. Our mindsets are often subconscious, and we go through life not necessarily programmed to stop regularly and reflect on what we are doing and WHY we are doing it.

Life Coaching creates space to do just that – to explore what we think and believe, look at those patterns and themes without judgement, and change what is not working for us. We unlearn negative beliefs that might be holding us back, and uncover new awareness inside ourselves that opens the way to growth and progress.

Some of the outcomes of this include better and more proactive decision making, greater self-esteem and self-confidence, and breaking free of what has held us back in the past. Again, some outcomes from satisfied clients:

I understand myself much better and why I do the things I do and therefore can make better and more proactive choices.”

Or another comment:

…seeing that I CAN rather than living in I CAN’T”

I love that. My passion is for you to live in who you ARE and what you CAN do. It breaks my heart to see people trapped in living in who they are not. It is exhausting, such a waste of wonderful resources, and robs the world of the unique person they are made to be.

I have had to unlearn a number of my own negative mindsets in the 10 years I have been coaching. I have to remind myself – especially with technology and marketing – that I don’t know to do this YET. To not be afraid to say, I don’t know how to do this, will you help me? And to see what I CAN do and where I AM making progress rather than feeling overwhelmed by all that I have to learn.

So what about you?

If any of this has made you stop and think, yes please, I need an accountability parter to help me unlock my own potential, get unstuck, make changes, grow in confidence to be ME – get in touch!
