I am a ‘So what?’ sort of person.

Let me explain. When we are presented with new information or new ideas/suggestions, we tend to ask ourselves four basic questions:
- What
- Why
- How
- So what
And most of us are wired towards favouring one of those. Perhaps we love gaining new knowledge, exploring new ideas and therefore WHAT is our focus. Maybe our tendency is more to ask, WHY – why is that important, why would I/you do that? What is the reason behind what you are suggesting – motive is our main driver. Or we are practical go-getters, so our main priority is HOW whatever is being suggested is going to be achieved.
For me, with efficiency as one of my root values, my question always is
SO WHAT
That’s all well and good, but so what? What difference is it going to make? What am I going to take away from this? How will I/you/this situation be better as a result?
This is always my focus when I am planning a speaking event or working with a new team. I am always asking myself the question –
These people have kindly chosen to come and listen to me/take part in this. How can I ensure that they each leave with a tangible, inspiring and actionable plan that will make a difference to their lives?
Unless they leave with a clear answer to their own SO WHAT? in relation to what I am presenting, this could just turn out to be an exercise in hot air. Pleasant and enjoyable perhaps, but not actually achieving anything, and at worst, a waste of their time and effort.
So too therefore with these last few weeks, where I have encouraged you to think about how to start the year well and work towards having a great 2019.
Because that’s all well and good for me to suggest a framework for planning a great year, but so what?
What results can I expect if I do this?
Well, I’m glad you asked! Life Coaching is all about results, otherwise, what’s the point. Martin Luther King made this great quote:

You might well be wanting to have your best year ever. You may be wanting to make forward progress on building confidence, moving through a big transition, letting go of negative beliefs, changing career. But you are stuck.
First step is to get moving somehow, as suggested by Dr King. It doesn’t matter where you are starting from. It does matter that you are moving forward.

And don’t take my word for the kinds of results you might get – the SO WHAT – of life coaching. These have been huge SO WHAT answers to some recent clients.

So if you are wanting to move forward but are a bit stuck, let these results speak to you of your own SO WHAT …..

WHAT would you want to be different in YOUR life? And what could YOU achieve with life coaching?
