Folks, it is summer.
Well, let me clarify that and be more specific.
In this house at least, the summer holidays have begun. We continue to live governed by school holidays, a scheduling system that dictates when we can rest and when we have to keep going, when we are allowed to be ill and when our brains have to be on full alert. This is not the case for many, I realise. But currently, this is what determines my working patterns.
I have the enormous privilege of being around for our two younger Nearest-and-Dearest, working from home and being able to choose a lighter work schedule in the summer.
[As a side note, I am acutely aware of how few years we have left in this season before any association with school is over. In that is a whole other blog series, looking at transitions, change, loss, letting go.
‘Tis not for now.]
And so to a little blogging hiatus. Holidays dictate a slower pace, time to reflect perhaps.
Pause.
Perhaps tackle that pile of books beside the bed.
Or indulge in the extraordinary luxury of having-nothing-in-particular-to-do.
And so, blogging musings will be fewer and shorter over the next few weeks, inspired by recent thoughts on creativity.
I have come across some marvelous and thought-provoking observations about creativity that have broadened my perspective, and these I seek to share in the hope that they will do the same for you.
In all that these next weeks hold, I wish you creative freedom to fully enjoy and embrace who you are.
