How have your relationships changed - path up a hill

When normal life and normal society shut down almost overnight in March 2020, we had no idea how long this way of living would continue.

Probably just as well.

How have your relationships changed?

It might be that you are relishing the time spent with your family, or your partner and are enjoying the stripped back simplicity of life.

Or it might be that the claustrophobic-never-endingness of living and working together in the same space is DRIVING YOU NUTS.

Chances are, you are somewhere in between.

These past months of restrictions have put our relationships under strain in a way we could never have envisioned. There has been much less to dilute the intensity of the presence of those in your house.

Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide.

How have your relationships changed - path up a hill If you live alone, this has brought very different challenges. Different relationships have come into focus, and ways of maintaining contact and connection.

So perhaps now is the time to look again at your relationships and take a little health check.

Revisiting relationships.

When it comes to our closest relationship – with a partner – it can be easy to fall into the trap of believing various different things about who is responsible for what.

What can we do to restore and strengthen connection – a series on relationships starts here. This might be just what you need this week to start making positive changes.

What are the lies that you might be believing about your relationship?

That sounds awfully harsh….but try these on for size:

It’s all my partner’s fault.

A great relationship should be easy

We will revisit more lies next week.

But for now, consider these past months – how have your relationships changed, and how can you invest some time these week in growing closer to each other?
