peace at Christmas

peace at ChristmasA week to go.

In all the little moments of the next few days, as you stop – are aware – cherish – breathe in all that is going on – may you know peace and hope for all that is to come.

Whether you have a faith or not, take time to recognise and cherish the central role of love, grace and kindness – choose to show them both to others and to yourself.

At this time of waiting and anticipation, it is more important than ever to keep a sense of peace and perspective each day. To stop, breathe, enjoy a snatched few precious moments of peace and ask yourself:

Christmas baublesWhat is most important to me this Christmas?

Why am I doing what I am doing – especially if I am feeling a bit frazzled?

How am I taking a little time to care for myself in the midst of everything, so I can give more of my best to others?

How am I loving those around me?

This week, these words are running through my mind –

Deep peace of the running wave to you.
Deep peace of the flowing air to you.
Deep peace of the quiet earth to you.
Deep peace of the shining stars to you.
Deep peace of the gentle night to you.
Moon and stars pour their healing light on you.
Deep peace of Christ,
of Christ the light of the world to you.
Deep peace of Christ to you.

John Rutter

You are a unique and extraordinary human being. Who you are, how you connect with those around you, what you bring to this world are important.

And taking time to stop and be at peace with yourself is a gift that really does keep on giving.

Have a wonderful Christmas!
