FAQ

Q. I’m interested to know more – what do I do now?

Contact me here to discuss arranging your free 30 minute taster life coaching session. This initial session allows us to look at where you are now and to hear a little of your story. I will outline how coaching might help, paint a picture of what could be different, and if we would be a good fit working together.

Q. What happens after the first free session?

If you decide that you would like to work with me in moving forward with your life, you simply agree to proceed with coaching. You can sign up for a block of sessions at a time, receiving a discount. I will send you a welcome pack by email containing more information and practicalities, and we book a date and time for your first session.

Q. How much does it cost and where do I pay?

£50 per session, payable in advance of the session. Your investment includes the session, all worksheets, and email/text support and accountability between sessions. Block bookings of four sessions at £185 are encouraged – you get a discount, and give yourself full commitment to the process. Payment details are here.

Q .How long does each session last?

Each session lasts one hour.

Q. How often are the sessions?

This depends on you, and what fits your life and budget, but I usually recommend one session every two weeks. This allows time for reflection and tasks between sessions, but also retains momentum. I also provide email or text support between sessions.

Q. What do sessions involve?

At the start of each session, you decide the focus for that hour – what is next, or most important at that time. In general terms, we might look at strengths, values, dreams for the future, motivators, time management systems, mindsets and internal beliefs, and time management or organisation. The process is always a positive one, learning from what has gone before but always looking forwards to where and who you want to be. Each session ends with an action step or two for you to put into practice, which might include questions to reflect on or worksheets between sessions.

Q. How many sessions will I need?

Again, this depends on you, and what we are working through with the coaching, but sustainable change can take months. Initially 4 to 6 sessions are recommended, but it does vary a lot. Coaching with me is an open-ended contract to allow the process to take in your developing needs, but it is always led by you and where you are in that process. Maintenance programmes are available after you have completed at least 8 sessions – these serve as empowering and encouraging “top-ups” to keep you motivated and on track.

Q. How are the sessions carried out?

Face to face if local to Glasgow, in a neutral and mutually convenient location. Or by telephone or Skype, from the comfort and convenience of your own home, if you prefer or if you live further afield.

Q. What kind of coaching do you do?

My main emphasis is Life Purpose coaching, exploring what you want to do in life, what you are gifted at, and what matters to you most. This can include life purpose and self confidence, work/life balance, changing direction or going through transitions, time management, relationships, boundaries, overcoming negative self belief, self awareness.

Q. I am looking for a Christian Life Coach – can you help?

Yes! I am a certified Biblical Life Coach, and a member of the Biblical Coaching Alliance. I ascribe to their faith statement, which you can read here, and to their Christian Coaches Creed. I have been involved in my local church for more than twenty years in various capacities including leading Alpha, homegroups, prayer ministry and with the young adults. Your faith and the truths of Scripture will be central to your coaching journey, especially in relation to your identity and unique design. I believe that you, like all of us, are God’s masterpiece (Ephesians 2 verse 10) and am passionate about you knowing and embracing this, and living life to the full, as Jesus promised. Contact me here for more information or to arrange your free session to talk things through.

Q. What if I am not a Christian – can your coaching help me?

Yes! People from all faiths and none are welcome to come to me for coaching and can benefit from the coaching that I am offering. I am a Christian, and a certified Biblical Life Coach, and my beliefs are the value system from which I operate. But I do not discuss my faith or in any way try to influence you because of what I believe and will always respect you as an individual and where you are coming from. We are all unique individuals, with dreams, values and gifts, and I want to encourage everyone to know and celebrate their uniqueness and understand their life purpose whatever their own personal belief system. The most important thing is that you and I get on, you trust me and we can work together towards your goals.
